Jeepers Jamboree 2018 // Wagoneer vs Rubicon Trail

With hundreds of 4wd events happening every year, it’s easy to get lost deciding which ones you should attend – #JeepersJamboree is one of the most FUN & Iconic, especially true for Jeep fans. If you like to wheel, camp, and vibe with like minded Jeep owners – this event is perfect for you. We would recommend this event, especially to anyone who has never visited The Rubicon Trail, as it’s basically a guided run.

To prep for the show/trail run, we thrashed 9 days straight making the right modifications. Read our blog (linked here) for more info on the prep work. It received a lot of love prior to heading out!

Right after the show was over – We packed it in & headed straight to the Rubicon Trailhead. It was about an hour commute, we made it just in time to set up camp & get a good nights sleep.

Camp is SET! Time to get some much needed rest

We woke up at 6:30am to the sound of rolling Jeep thunder – It was time to get a move on. The Rubicon Trail awaits…We powered down some food and iced coffee, then rolled out!

The GOAL is to make it to Rubicon Springs where there is Camping, Swimming, Fun, & Food. How do 500+ rigs make it to the same spot, you say? FALL IN LINE, JEEPS!

The Jeeps just go on & on when the morning lineup begins – It’s crazy cool to see this many 4wd enthusiasts on the same trail at once… Always impressive!

We were ready to hit the lineup & begin the trail run. Soon after – we took off.

WHEELING THE RUBICON TRAIL TO RUBICON SPRINGS (Video Below)

As you can see by the video – The Rubicon Trail is FUN, DIRTY BUSINESS. By the time you’re 4-5 hours in, you’re a hot, sweaty mess & are beyond ready to cool off in the infamous Springs. All in good fun though, because….

Rubicon Springs is a gorgeous place to camp & have some fun with your family / friends. This trip was no exception. It was perfect outside – Blue Sky & Dry! There are some well founded Rubicon Springs traditions worth mentioning – SILLY FLOATIES, THE ROPE SWING, & COSTUME NIGHT (which only a few jokesters will do every year) Every day, the gracious Jeepers Jamboree crew was able to serve up Breakfast (Including COFFEE!) Lunch, and Dinner. It’s pretty awesome how inclusive this event is. You are well taken care of. There is even a cash bar 21+ & on the weekend nights they have cover bands that spice up the nightlife in camp.
